I love travelling, to all sorts of places! But I enjoy it most when I feel a connection with what I'm seeing... a connection of love (visiting family or friends), awe at the magnificence of nature, humbled by what those who came before us have left behind (ancient ruins, historical monuments, medieval cities...), or food for the imagination from stories I have read or seen (locations for books, movies, TV...). Although I have yet to visit (that I know of) any of the places associated with Arthurian lore or the legend of Robin Hood, I do hope to some day find myself walking the paths of Sherwood or pondering the possibilities of an Arthurian site (or smiling fondly on folklore's associations of a site with old heroes).
